Getting to the Top Ten Percent in a sales career, or any industry, is about knowing yourself and doing the homework to develop your strengths so you can pick the right job in the right industry, selling the right product/service, to the right customer, working for the right company and manager.  The work we put in on ourselves to find the position that allows us to build the life we want to achieve should mirror the work we put into getting to the Top Ten Percent.  In other words, we need to treat our career step changes like we treat prospecting the ideal customer profile.  Lauren and I had an excellent conversation around asking the right questions of yourself to make sure you know who you are so that you can find the correct sales position that will not only fit you but allow you to shine.
